How It All Began

Inspired by the Bavarian Alps

The idea for Klimovka Recreation Base first came to us back in 1989. After an unforgettable trip to the Bavarian Alps, we were struck by how harmoniously people can live at one with nature. The neat wooden houses, crystal-clear rivers, care for every single tree and the homely comfort touched us deeply.

Back home in Ridder, we realised one simple thing: our Altai Mountains are every bit as beautiful as the Alpine landscapes!

So we decided to create our own “perfect world” right here, at the foot of the Ivanovsky Belok ridge, on the bank of the mountain river Razlivanka.

The Road to a Dream

Building from Scratch in the Wild Taiga

The road to our dream was not an easy one. At first there was absolutely nothing here: no roads, no bridges, no electricity. Just wild, untouched taiga that could only be reached with enormous effort.

Step by step, with our own hands and the efforts of our whole family, we paved the way. We built authentic hand-hewn log houses, started the Gemma farm to feed our guests with natural produce, and grew our petting zoo.

Today Klimovka is a modern, comfortable retreat that has kept the soul of an Altai village. A place where you are always welcomed as the most treasured guest.

Spirituality

An Orthodox Church on the Grounds

Klimovka was never meant to be just a place to spend the night — we wanted it to be a place of strength and peace of mind. That is why our family is especially proud to have built a real Orthodox church on the grounds of the base.

Its wooden architecture blends perfectly into the natural landscape. Here every guest can enjoy the silence, find tranquillity and touch the eternal, far from the bustle of the city and the constant flow of information.

The church doors are always open to our guests.
